Plain English summary: TryPost stores the account and content data needed to publish posts, connect social profiles, and manage schedules. If you self-host TryPost, you control the infrastructure, storage, and retention choices.
Who We Are
TryPost is an open-source social posting app built for teams and individuals who want a simple way to draft, schedule, and publish content. This Privacy Policy explains how data is handled when you use the hosted TryPost service or a self-hosted TryPost instance.
What We Collect
We collect only the data necessary to operate the product and support your connected accounts. That may include:
- Account details such as name, email address, and login information.
- Profile and workspace information you choose to save.
- Content you create, schedule, publish, or draft in TryPost.
- Connected social account identifiers, tokens, and posting permissions.
- Usage data, device information, and server logs needed for security and reliability.
- Support messages and any files you send us directly.
How We Use Data
We use data to authenticate accounts, publish content you authorize, store drafts and schedules, show posting history, maintain the service, troubleshoot errors, and protect against abuse. We do not sell personal data.
Your Connected Accounts and Content
You control which social accounts you connect and what content you publish. TryPost only posts where you authorize it to post, and you can revoke access to connected accounts at any time through the relevant platform settings.
Because TryPost is open source and can be self-hosted, the operator of each deployment controls its own infrastructure, logs, backups, and retention settings. If you run your own instance, that instance may collect more or less data depending on how you configure it.
Third-Party Services
TryPost may interact with the social platforms you connect, as well as infrastructure providers used to host the service. Those providers process data under their own policies and terms. We recommend reviewing the privacy settings for every connected platform you use with TryPost.
Data Retention
We keep data only as long as needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. If you delete content, disconnect accounts, or close your workspace, we will remove or anonymize associated data subject to legal and operational requirements.
Children's Privacy
TryPost is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, provide an in-app or site notice.
Contact
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or want to make a request about your data, contact the TryPost team at hello@sparkbytdigital.com. If you are using a self-hosted instance, you can also contact that instance's administrator.
